Marco Girgenti
Composer • Arranger • Producer • Actor
With more than 30 years of experience as a composer, arranger, producer, musician, educator, and actor, Marco Girgenti has built a career that spans studio production, live performance, film, television, theatre, education, and artist development.
As a composer and arranger, Marco has written and produced music for film, television commercials, theatrical productions, children’s albums, worship events, and some of the most accomplished synchronized skating teams in the world. His music has been featured at the Winter Olympics and performed by Olympic medalists and world champions, including Canadian skating legend Elvis Stojko.
Marco’s arranging credits range from intimate acoustic productions to full orchestras, 80-voice choirs, East Indian percussion ensembles, R&B vocal groups, and contemporary worship productions. Equally comfortable working with large ensembles or a single vocalist, his versatility has made him a sought-after collaborator across genres and cultures.
During his years as an arranger and producer, Marco worked alongside some of Nashville’s most respected session musicians, including Steve Brewster, Pat Coil, Jerry McPherson, Craig Nelson, and the renowned vocal trio First Call. These musicians have collectively contributed to recordings by artists such as Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Reba McEntire, Faith Hill, Vince Gill, Josh Groban, and many others. The experience provided Marco with a front-row seat to the highest levels of professional recording, arranging, and production.
His production and songwriting work has included collaborations with Sony-signed pop trio b4-4 (now RyanDan), international recording artist Mark Masri, and numerous independent artists throughout North America and Europe.
Most recently, Marco completed a string reduction and rhythm section arrangement for Mark Masri, continuing a creative relationship that has spanned several years. His original composition “Amore È,” recorded by Masri, received immediate airplay on Italian-Canadian radio and has since been selected—along with another of Marco’s compositions—for an upcoming series by celebrity chef David Rocco.
As a music educator and mentor, Marco teaches theory, composition, arranging, songwriting, production, and multiple instruments to private students across Canada. His approach combines real-world industry experience with a passion for helping artists develop their own creative voice.
Marco has appeared on national television, including 100 Huntley Street, and has collaborated internationally with artists and organizations throughout North America and Europe. He is also one of the most decorated composers in the world of synchronized skating, with music used by elite teams and athletes on the international stage.
Beyond music, Marco is an ACTRA actor with credits in television and feature films, often portraying intense and emotionally driven lead characters. His work as a performer complements his musical career, bringing a strong sense of storytelling, emotion, and character development to everything he creates.
His music has earned praise from some of the industry’s most respected voices. International recording artist Mark Masri described Marco’s work as “epic,” while legendary Academy Award-winning composer Ennio Morricone praised it as “deeply passionate and moving.”
Marco currently serves as one of the original judges for the internationally recognized Elvis & Co. Festival, sanctioned by Elvis Presley Enterprises. He shares the panel with Grammy Award-winning songwriter Linda Thompson and Juno-nominated artist Alex Bird.
After stepping away from the music industry for more than a decade, Marco is once again returning to the studio, the stage, and the creative world that first inspired him.
As Marco likes to joke, “The last time I was a music director, I had to prove to people that I was a musician—because I was in the industry pre-Google.”
Today, thanks to old friends, new collaborations, and a growing body of work, he is finding himself slowly—but unmistakably—pulled back in.
He is currently developing new collaborations, producing emerging artists, mentoring songwriters, and preparing the release of his first full-length album—a collection of new material and previously unreleased works that have quietly remained “in the vault” for more than 25 years.
